FW: Update regarding the Perry/Bolton TAD (Status of our Grocery)

Dear Constituents: This email serves as an update regarding the Perry/Bolton TAD. As you are aware, there was a meeting held on Tuesday at NPU-D. It was an opportunity to hear from Commissioner Darnell on the County’s position, and ask questions. I was in attendance, as well, for the same purpose.

The following lists are the next steps I will undertake to move us forward:

Community

  1. Provide electronic version of information that was handed out at the NPU meeting. (See first three attachments).
  2. Set meeting ASAP with members of the TAD community. Each NPU (C,D,G,& J) have representatives appointed to the Perry/Bolton TAD Advisory Committee.

In addition to the TAD Advisory Committee, I’m asking each NPU chair to select two more people from each NPU. I’m hoping that collectively we can develop “one” position on how you want the TAD to proceed.

Chairs, time is of the essence, so please email Denise Booth at dbooth@atlantaga.gov with the names of 2 representatives from each of the NPU's. I would like to have our first meeting, Wednesday, April 4th at 7PM. Location to be determined.

Atlanta Development Authority (ADA)

  1. I will get with ADA and have them send a written response to the County regarding the amended resolution.
  2. I will forward to Commissioner Darnell and members of the County Commission copies of letters, to date, that I have received from developers. (See last three attachments).
  3. Set up a meeting with Bond Counsel, Developers, ADA, Fulton County staff and Commissioners, Community representatives and City representatives, etc. to discuss the Perry/Bolton TAD issue.
  4. Get information on affordability compliance measures that ADA uses to ensure that developers meet the requirements. I will forward this information to the County and the Community as soon as it is received.
  5. Ask ADA if there is a way to get a sense of the percentage of the current level of affordability within the TAD boundaries. I will share this information, if it can be compiled.
  6. Fulton County Commission

    1. Follow thru on meeting to be set by the Council’s Community Development Committee with County Commission members to discuss this and other issues.
    2. I will personally be drafting a letter to all Commissioners requesting that they revisit the Perry/Bolton TAD requirement to mirror the other TAD’s they have previously approved in the City.
    3. In addition, I will be contacting each Commissioner and the County Manager to meet one-on-one regarding this issue.
    4. Felicia A. Moore
      Councilmember, District 9
      Atlanta City Council
